Description
38% silver diamine fluoride is an effective solution for the treatment of dental hypersensitivity. It works by occluding the dentinal tubules, which helps to minimize sensitivity. Silver has antimicrobial properties while fluoride promotes remineralization.
SDF is applied topically to the teeth, often using a small brush or applicator. It can be particularly useful in situations where traditional dental treatments such as fillings or sealants may not be feasible.
SDF will cause staining of carious lesions. It does not cause staining of healthy dentin or enamel.
